Cookie Making Tips

    •   For best results, use regular shortening, butter or margarine (containing at least 80% oil) in cookie recipes. Whipped tub, soft liquid or reduced-fat products contain air and water and will product flat, tough or underbrowned cookies.
    • Turn on your oven to the required temperature 10-15 minutes before baking.
    • Leave at least 2 inches around the baking sheet and the oven walls for good heat circulation. For best results, bake only one sheet of cookies at a time.
    • Use shiny aluminum baking sheets without sides for golden brown cookies.
    • For even baking, make cookies the same size and thickness.
    • Unless otherwise directed, let cookies cool for 1 minute on the baking sheet before removing to a wire rack. Cool completely before storing.
